The Kenvale College
Cooperative Education Scholarship Program (CESP) offers financial
assistance to students to partially fund tuition fees and
facilitates industry placements with partnership hospitality and
events establishments.
Students who are accepted into the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality
and Event Management are eligible to apply for a scholarship.
The placement is the result of an exclusive agreement between the
College and the establishment:
• There is a commitment
from the establishment to fund the CESP and to provide 800 hours
per year (or 400 per semester) of industry placement for the KC
students it accepts.
•The students commit themselves to perform industry placement in
that establishment for a period of 800 hours (or 400, as
applicable).
HOW DOES
THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM WORK?
•
Students apply for a scholarship at the time of their
interview.
• Students who are accepted for a scholarship pay $4,430 in fees
upon confirmation of enrolment – due 5 December 2009.
• The full balance of tuition fees will be paid through the
CESP.
• To be awarded a scholarship you need to be accepted into the
College and be interviewed by one of our industry partners.
Confirmation of an industry placement by an industry partner
will result in the awarding of a scholarship placement by the
College for one year.
• As a condition of the scholarship placement, student must agree
to undertake 800 hours of industry placement with one of Kenvale
College’s industry partners over the course of the year.
• The scholarship placement is renewable subject
to student’s academic performance, behaviour at the College and at
the establishment where the student is working, and it is up to the
discretion of the College Management.
"I
WON A SCHOLARSHIP!" WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
If you are
awarded a scholarship, your industry placement contributes $10,000
to Kenvale's Scholarship Fund on your behalf over the course of the
academic year (March - December). This will cover the balance
of your tuition fees. As a condition of the scholarship, you must
agree to undertake 800 hours of industry placement with one of
Kenvale College’s industry partners over the course of the year.
There is a non-refundable deposit of $650.00 payable upon
acceptance into the course.
Students are not employees of Kenvale College or the industry
partners and do not participate in any employee award
system.
