All international
students, except New Zealand citizens, are required to have
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their
student visa in Australia.
OSHC will
help pay for medical (doctor, pathology, x-rays) and hospital care
and will contribute towards the cost of most prescription medicines
and emergency ambulance transport.
Premiums
for the year 2009 are AUD$315.
Students
pay the premium to cover each period of authorised stay in
Australia as a student. Kenvale College pays the OSHC premium on
behalf of the student for 12 months, so that the student is covered
upon arrival to Australia.
New
students are to pay the OSHC premium together with their enrolment
fee. Upon their arrival, the College will issue the students with
their OSHC card. The College will extend the cover on a yearly
basis. The student will be invoiced the appropriate fee, payable at
the same time as enrolment fees.
Kenvale's
preferred provider for OSHC is Australian Health Management (ahm).
