Kenvale College of Tourism and
Hospitality Management in partnership with the Federal Government’s
Career’s Advice Australia initiative, the NSW Business Chamber, the
North West Business and Education Network and the Radisson Plaza
Hotel Sydney offers a great educational opportunity to Year 12
hospitality students.
The program provides opportunities for 13-19
year olds to receive relevant industry information and experience
in skills shortage areas. The NSW Business Chamber has
coordinated the “High Flyers” program through their Regional
Industry Careers Advisor.
The program known as The High Flyers
Program offers the chance for students to win a two-year
hospitality scholarship with Kenvale College that covers their
tuition fees.
The Program started in 2007.
This year's Gala Dinner at the Radisson Hotel, hosted by the
15 finalists out of under a hundred applicants, was held on
Saturday 31 May. The major winners were:
-
- James Dinale from Marist College Eastwood for the Advanced
Diploma in Hospitality Management (runner up: Lauren Griffin from
Woolooware High School)
- Rebecca Felix from St Ursula's College Kingsgrove for
Certificate III Commercial Cookery (runner up: Guiletta Diniele
also from St Ursula's College)
All 15 finalists receive $500
vouchers from Kenvale College to be applied to their first year
tuition fees at the College, should they get accepted into any of
the courses. Congratulations to this year's High
Flyers!
