Introduction to Hospitality & Event Management - int'l

kenya_fiji.jpgKenvale’s Hospitality and Event Management courses are designed for students who would like to enter one or both of these fascinating industries and progress to management level.

Within the management courses, our most common program is the combined Advanced Diploma of Hospitality/Diploma of Events. This program follows a progressive pathway and takes two years fulltime study to complete.  Students receive both the theoretical and practical training required to succeed in the Hospitality and Event Industry.

The course has the following characteristics:

  • Lectures and practical sessions are held between 8.30 am (earliest) and 5.30pm (latest), 2.5 - 3 days per week, at the College.
  • The academic year is divided into 2 semesters (February - June  and  July - December).
  • Each semester consists of 16 weeks.
  • All students carry out an industry placement for 15- 20 hours per week in addition to their College contact hours.
  • Upon successful completion of Certificate IV in Hospitality in Year 1, students may progress to the Diploma of Events  and/ or Advanced Diploma in Hospitality in Year 2.  (Please refer to the Course curriculum for more detailed information on this program).
