Tourism
and Hospitality Operational Studies -
SERV1100
Tourism & Hospitality Operational
Studies (SERV1100) is a core unit for first year students
undertaking Services Marketing (Trsm&Hosp – 3571), Commerce
Degree.
This course is made up of four modules which
are: Occupational Health & Safety(OHS), Business
Communication, Event Management and Food and
Beverage.
Kenvale College offers a
holistic type of training where analytical concepts are first
applied in the classroom context and then applied in real life
situations.
The classes provide a complement
to the UNSW Subjects, enabling students to gain the practical
experience so vital to their performance in the workplace. By
participating in activities outside the classroom, students can
engage in the latest developments in the industry, open their
awareness of the innovative products and services available, as
well as raise social awareness.
In addition to connecting students with the
industry, the courses extend beyond the typical dimensions of
education and training to aid personal and character
development. With a focus on quality service and
professionalism in all classes, Kenvale aids in the development of
highly trained professionals with the right attitude and personal
qualities necessary to deliver the highest standards of
service.
As part of SERV1100, Kenvale College
offers UNSW students the opportunity to put on a real life event
called Winefest. This event
gives students an opportunity to put into practice all the concepts
taught and practised in class.
Winefest is a Boutique NSW
Wine Exhibition which attracts up to 600 guests including industry
leaders, restaurant owners, wine distributors, as well as academics
and friends and family of College members.
